Little picture I've been work'n on for a while, just keep going back and forth.

Before.

Starting to Color,

Then after.. still need to do some finishing touches, but wanted to know if there was any one that might see something I don't. I'm sure theres some lighting/atonomy issues, but this is one of my first colorings I've ever done and one of my first drawings (other then still lifes)that I've spent time on to try and work on things.

There's something not quite right about her postion. Is she sitting on her knees?

she's like sitting on her knee's with them tucked to her left side, which wouldn't make'm visable excempt maybe a foot, but I didn't think that would look right either because of where her left arm is.

I'm not sure though, that's why I am here

I don't mean to pry, but there seem to be a few issues with the anatomy, especially in the head and face region (I'm afraid of the chest, as well). There's also a feeling that the figure is not actually sitting on anything, but floating. Bridgeman has a good presentation on how to deal with poses, as well, making them more interesting. Since you're working on paper, where the undo and highlight options are limited, you might want to transfer the image when you decide to color, allowing you more options to put bright highlights. I hope you don't mind, but I've done a repaint in order to highlight my point (which I often muddle in the text). Please don't look at this as an end-all, be-all soloution. There are a huge number of problems with my image as well. It's just a quick idea.

www.amazon.com www.bn.com www.budplant.com (this one's good for looking up books in the "How To" section, but the price is a little higher if the others have them).
Also look for Will Pogany and Andrew Loomis. It's my opinion (from having a few of his books) that you're better off staying away from Hogarth, though.

Thx, will have to check them out, only had 2 art classes in my life, so I've got tons of room for improvement and learning. Going to go check out that place with the "How To" and see what kind of pricing I can do.

hehe, nah, it is, I changed the robe some, and the face/hair and hand positioning and such, because I didn't care for the new models. Was sitting on a raid and was bored so busted out the pencil and paper to pass the time :P
