Hey guys!
I've wanted to do some winter pics. But I can't seem to get the right winterish feeling... Here's a quickie to show you what I mean. Any tips?

Well I don't quite feel qualified to tell someone from Sweden how to make a picture look wintery...
I think one thing that's important is hard shadows (in your picture you have them very soft). In a bright climate with few clouds the sun acts as a very direct light source and will produce a hard edge on shadows.

look critically at the light in the photo. the sun is really made a very pronounced white/yellow glare off of the snow. also the horizon should be a bit more defined. beyond that I think working on the leg proportions (which are generally pretty good) some more would help, as would just adding more details and slightly darkening the deep shadow. |
