I'm not worthy, your so damn good, the background is sick, I'd like to see you do a full pic like the background, instead of the usual, dont get me wrong, the usual rules!

Hey love the composition, nearly works really nicely, except... (sorry In my humble opinion the whole motion line of the horse seems a bit off, it looks as if it is a step or two from somersaulting down the stairs, espcially with its legs crossed like that... and the head and neck of the horse seem to be a bit stunted. I also do think the horse is a tad on the small side, or the guy is a tad on the big side, it doesnt look as if his horse is a huge strong stallion carrying him into battle, it looks like it may be struggling with his weight a bit, and the guy looks generally pissed off with the horse, the way hes looking, and the whole way he is sitting he could be waiting for a bus, theres not much emotion in his whole posture, maybe youre going to change it anyway, but it s just something I noticed. Theres something a little awkward about the staff. This is just my opinion, im hope im not over critting!! Dont take it the wrong way, love it, and it could be wicked! would you mind if I posted a sketch of a different composition for it???

Yup, the horse in general is too small, and the head even moreso. Horses tend to have large heads. I think there's some anatomy problems with how the torso of it bends as well, not quite sure with the silhouette though.

Well, you should probably do the horse yourself. If someone else drew it or whatever, the whole position and size of it would be completely different.

I have a suggestion though, perhaps you should start over with the horse. The perspective needs adjusting, should be foreshortened into the background and a little larger body and head. You could (as an Idea) make the horses back legs touching the background stones and have the front part of the horse coming into the foreground like its coming out of the background. The design work is really nice though border an all.

Peace

(edit) a poor 3 star artist giving a 4 star artist advice...strange huh. (/edit)

Hi ok... I did a quick sketch between very stressful projects at work during lunch.. nice break! Its a real quicky but the horse does look a bit more... horsey? the front leg is giving it more stability now, the heads bigger... the rear is a mess but you sort of get the idea, if the back legs touch the stones behind it itll look a lot more stable, stairs arent exactly the best thing for a horse to run down, so no wonder the guy looks a bit miffed hehe. The guy still looks a bit like hes about to slide down the horses neck but if you angle him back a bit thatd be cool. I changed the composition a little bit by giving it a more diagonal feel. Mainly the eye travels diagonally down a page from top left to bottom right. So if you have the staff starting the line, you can get the cloth in to complete it and maybe line up the sword in the air with a leg or something, it would give it a more solid framework. Hope it helps a bit, wouldve loved to have spent more time on it!! Now for the praise.. Love your design work too, very impressive, and the background is outstanding! Im not a professional but I hope this advice helps and you dont mind someone new to the forums giving you a hand! keep up the nice work!!
