I need some advise on this piece, is the lightnigng correct, does it look real?
c&c needed, perhaps some paintovers

I agree: sometimes critique like lighting, anatomy and perspective don't really apply to an image, and I sometimes feel the same way like you do.
I try to stress the relativity too.
It's true, lighting and the lot aren't dogma's, but techniques.
But still, that dog of yours looks like shite  . Not because of some wrong lighting. It just doesn't work  . No offense, because I feel the same as you do.
