You've definitely improved the hair - good work! That said, I think it could use a little more work; it's a pretty large piece of the image.
Although you've given the hair more mass, which is good, I think you need to work on the hair's sense of movement. You have the hair moving in a straight line or shallow curve for what would be about ... 8 inches. Hair can't stay straight for this long, it falls over on itself. If you want the hair to fill up a lot of the frame, try making it wavier, and have it appear to flow behind her instead of moving straight up; you could make it look like the wind is carrying it behind her head, and the perspective would ensure that it filled the frame.
Don't take this the wrong way; the picture's come a long way. Good work! |

Leon: When they are stoned... but that isn't the effect I am going for. Thanks.
Corvax: Thanks. I had the waviness, but then I got more mass. Oh well, I can always put another pound of graphite on the paper and get wavy hair. Which is what I shall do. I like the idea of moving some of the density to behind the head. Oh, and don't worry about me taking this the wrong way, I am the one who asked for rabid critiques...

Okay, so I have made some changes, ie the hair and the building that is no longer visible behind the hair. Added highlights to the hair. I am toying with changing the jacket to a leather type jacket instead of the cloth type that it is now. Shouldn't be too hard. Crits are very welcome, especially if they are rabid and helpful. Tell me what is wrong down to the smallest detail. Thanks.
Oh, the high quality version can be found at High Quality Version

I agree about the eyes, they are not just an oval, my teachers always say like the shape of afish body, there are 4 completely different shapes in each corner of the eye, and they are not that wide, no presence of lids, or lashes, just general things like that, eyes always give a picture life, make sure to take extra time in them, oh shit, this is a really old post, forgot i was in the boons, sorry its so old i just noticed! |
