click here, and look at the can. how would you make the shade on the can not look so... brushed? as in, how would you make it a nice smooth gradient? i tried smudging, and ended up with just a smudged but still not-smooth can... ? |

try selecting the area of the can using the polygon lasso tool on seperate layer then apply a linear gradient choosing the range of colours u wish to make the can in the gradient options panel. then drag the gradient to the same angle as the can. after this you can apply details.
should work with most paint programs.
hope that helps

well... i kinda meant without using gradients or software techniques... i have this sort of aversion to doing anything that you couldn't really do on canvas. but i guess the occasional gradient couldn't really hurt. |
