Kuzya,
Looking good so far. There are two things that have bothered me consistently with some of your pictures recently. first, is the chalky quality in your skin tones. The remedy would be... not to add white or black to your colors when creating highlights and shadows. The second thing is the compositions, mainly the distortion that is inherent when using photo reference. Try tweaking some stuff in Photoshop first, then, when you have everything working, go ahead and start painting.
Just suggestions, so no worries if you disagree, but I truly believe if you do those simple thing your work, which is already quite good, will skyrocket to the next level.
Keep up the good work.
PS some subtle texture would go along way too. |

thanks alot for the comment .. yea i will get ahold of it in couple more drawings cause when i look at them now i can see more and more things that i could change.. but well thing is at the moment is that my HEATHER in the house blew a few days ago.. so my temp inside is about 50F and its kinda hard to draw and concentrate with frozen fingers.. and maybe thats why i use very cold colors.. brrrrrrr |

I guess when you see a lot of a style you either get used to it and expect the "distortions", which I cannot see, but that's because I'm smitten with this stuff. What style are you actually after? Do you want to have photo-realistic textures? It seems to me that, if your pictures are exactly what you're looking at, you wouldn't need to draw them at all. Just post the picture. The artistic changes, intentional are not, are what MAKE a project art.
If you're trying for a consistent smoothness in the skins, the face here looks more complete than the legs, but you're also only partially done, right? Judging from your other work, there's nothing here that can be suggested you wouldn't fix on your own anyhow. Ten stars! Great stuff! |

I've been thinking the same thing as KOryH pointed out, that it bothers me a bit that you use white and black when doing highlights and shadows on the skin of the models in your pictures. When you use black for creating shadows in a picture, and I guess this goes especially for creating "flesh-tone" shadows, then you sort of "kills" the colors...The black makes the colored piece look dead and dull. I've learned that as a general rule you should never use white or black for creating shadows and higlights in a picture. In "real life" almost every light carries some kind of color and is very seldom totally white and shadows are very seldom absolutely black...
Of course you can use black and white in your pictures but then you should try to keep them separated from them other colors, ie not mixing them with the flesh tones for instance.
Anyway, nice work! =) |
