first off, I suck bad and I know I do. I'd like you to check out my page (tripod, cant link images directly). all images were drawn during today in about 7 hours. Most IS NOT ORIGINAL. I'm just trying to learn. Some of it is though. I REALLY want some critiques. The last time I posted here I got two replies, one about a guy not seeing my image because it was tripod and another guy who was simply replying to the former's complaint.
anyway...

Well for one thing how about making your images smaller, or combining your images together for easy viewing?
But you are sketching and that's all that matters, just keep doing it. It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as you are learning something. If you are just doodling mindlessly it doesn't help.
Look and learn from life, and from how you draw. Compare and contrast your work with the work you like, the subject you are drawing etc. Learn to critique yourself, and hard (if you want to become better). Work at a particular notion at different times, if you can't get it, come back to it after a meal, or a fresh nights sleep.
Draw from life, draw from life, draw from life, draw from life and draw from life.
I hope some of this helps, keep posting here. No one ever critiques on my work, but just keep on trucking. You are doing the art for yourself, for your soul, not the people on the forum.
I hope some of this helps.
Oh yeah, read. Read people signatures, books, magazine articles good or bad, never know when you will get inspired. Read different things not just the things you like.

Jared,
Your drawing shows a good developing skill...
I agree totally with Jono above... draw from life, draw from life, draw from life!!! ...before spending a lot of time drawing from a picture or photo. Drawing from life helps give an understanding of the transition from a 3D image to the 2D page. Once that's pretty solidly in your finger tips, then photos and pictures can truly become references rather than images to copy. |

Okay, I'll try to combine my pics and make them smaller in size. Dont know how exactly I'll do that considering my pencilling is usually very thin and my drawings are always small.
I'll also try to draw from life more often, even though I really get bored of doing still lifes all the time.
