Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted any pictures... It's actually been a long time since I've drawn anything, so I'm horribly out of practice. I'm sure it shows. This was just a doodle, I'm wondering what you all think and what I could do with this. Any comments would be appreciated.

While I'm at it, here's another one I gave up on a while ago... Again, any comments would be rootin'-tootin'.

Hey, cool to see you again.
Ok, I really like those heads. They're pretty neat. I would give santa a tad more hair, but that's just personal taste. And I guess he's a tad too umm... yellow. He just came out of the cold winternight into your warm house. He prolly had some liquor already. So give him a red nose and red cheeks He looks scared somehow. Give him some eyelids and he will look calmer. If that is what you areaiming at.
The second picture lacks some contrast in the face. The hat and his eye are pretty dark, but his face is too light. I dunno, but I feel like he lacks some blue bouncelight as well.
Btw. I thought you were working in the art industry? You made the gremlin riot covers, right? Those were pretty cool
Don't stop please |

yay! welcome back tinusch!
i like both pictures a lot.. santa's nose and eyes seem a bit off perspective, but otherwise it's pretty cool.. nice job on the mouth area . i agree with s4sb about the tones, though- the second pic has a much more interesting color scheme imo.
my only real crit, however, has to be the lack of body on both pics.. give those heads something to stand on, even if it's just a basic silhouette . |

ooh hi! you were the one who made that flying baby with rockets on it's back huh?
i think you should give the santa guy more bushier (is that a word?) eyebrows..
very nice pictures otherwise. *dig* |

Muzman - Well, I've been doing pencil and pen sketches, but nothing digital or with color in a long time...
Swany - I know, I should add bodies... These were just quick things for practice, I'll probably end up putting my effort into something entirely new rather than dragging these out anymore
S4Sb - Thanks, yeah I know it doesn't look like the typical Santa... I was going for a paranoid, nervous, nerdy little Santa, for some reason. It seemed funny at the time. The second one definitely does need a lot of work.
Bilbo - Thanks for the inspiration... Yeah, I can spot a LOT of errors with the first pic. It was a quickie though so I'm not too worried about it. And the bodies... I know, I need to learn to finish the whole sketch before going in with details... I have trouble staying interested for that long
Tyron - Yes, that was I. Thanks for the compliments.
Here's another quick sketch. This one took about 15 minutes and it was basically just for composition, I might end up redoing it, but I know NOTHING about reflections and pretty much anything else, so I doubt I could pull it off. If anyone else wants to take a stab at it, please do...

Okay now that I think about it that might be offensive to some people... It was meant as a serious piece but I'm thinking it might be considered a little tasteless? Please let me know if it's a little touchy and I'll remove it immediately. |

Thanks. I definitely see the lack of contrast and variation in the Santa pic. Very dull and lifeless. It could use a lot more red to liven it up, I agree. And I'm glad you're not appalled by the tower picture... |
