I just have a suggestion. Try rotating her eye sockets outward cause when i first glanced at the pic it looked kinda strange (the eye form).

Howdy, this is a character im working on at the minute, i quite like the way its turning out considering this is my first real attempt at organic type modelling.

first off, im using polygon modelling with nurms meshsmooth.

anyhow, jus wanted to hear any opinions about it in general, especially from anybody who works in 3D - maybe you could answer my questions...

* i hope to eventually setup the character for animating using ik and bones etc, so is there anything i should be considering at this point in the modelling process?

* hair, how the hell do i make a realistic looking ponytail?! - ive tried lofting through a helix and twisting it all shapes without the damm things linning up properly!

* anything else i should be looking at / modifying?

CHEERS!

Looking really good, however your mesh seems rather thick.
The hair, well there are many ways to approach this. One would be to create a solid object and then use alpha and opasity maps to achieve the pony tail effect. Then there are plug-ins like fur etc.
As for the face and technical matters there are a couple of guys here that are really good.
Ambient-whisper comes to mind.
In any event check these sites if you haven't already
CG Channel
Spiraloid forums

hope that helps, keep up the good work

Her eyes and teeth look scary *heh*
What if you made the eyes a bit less tilted and teeth smoother? They look ferocious 0_0

I don't know crap about 3D modeling so I probably shouldn't even be posting a comment :P

I like the sketch, though. She looks chipper

I like the sketches. I think you have made the face a bit to flat. Its like you only have used the front window to model it. pull back the cheeks and put the eyes more on the side. I wouldnt spend so much time on getting the rendering perfect yet. try to get the model finished first.

hmmmmm... divided opinions over this!

Vgta: Yea i realise that the mesh i too thick, sign of an amature i suppose. ill maye try to simplify it a little. thanks for the links, ill have a wee look.

[Shizo]: thanks, i think that the eyes are whats making the image look strange, ill give it a go.

synj: does look a little like her, except that model is jus a little bit better than mine. lol, damm thats all i see now when i look at the pics! a bloody big cock, seems that the character will have to become a transvestite, which i suppose will give it a unique angle!

Magic Zero: Thank youuuuU!

ancient skeleton pirate: hmmmm, it definately something to do with the eyes, a lot of what comes across in a character seems to be related to the eyes, so something ill have to go back to. What do you mean "what the hell is it?" i dont really understand the question, i thought the sketch a the top really spoke for itself, maybe im just retarded.

anyway,

tanks fer tha werds buyos, ill pst a wee updat wen i get mure dun.

yeah the eyes are a bit too big compared to the size of her face and are too much on a slant making her looking like she has down syndrome but you have the idea and you are very talented.

Fix the eyes and keep going as it's looking good!
