Hi folks!
A flying thing I've had in my head for a while...
It's the colouring that bothers me. Not the specific colours but the technique used (if you would call it that, hehe). Do you guys n' gals have any suggestions on how to make it better.
Cheers
Sukhoi

so you say this has been in your head, did it hurt?
wish i could think of stuff that easy, kind of looks like the style, skezzer does, i think thats his name. I really like this, the colors are really cartoony (when i mean that, i meant Realistic cartoony), but it looks as though thats what you wanted, i personaly like it this way. the colors work really well, i dont know why it bothers you. But it must bother some people, because i found this almost at the bottom of the forum.
On a personal note, how do you put in dents and scratches, i would like to imply it to some of my work, but dont really know how to. |

i think you picked the colors quite good, but the purple could be less shiny. the plane seems too close to the ground(the shadow), it looks like its on a standard this way. try to refine the nose a little bit, it looks bent to the right |

Thanks guys...
Swany:
Thanks for the nice comments!
As for dirt, rust and whatever you wanna call it I simply use layers in Photoshop.
I create a layer on top of the base colour-layer. I choose it to be in 'multiplier' mode and I then paint dark dirt on top of the leading edges of the surface (in this case the front of the wings etc.). The final touch is to erase the dark smudge at the vary forefront of the leading edge. This gives the surface a 'peeled' look, as if years and years of wear and tear has gotten to it.
Still this is pretty basic, and this does not include the paint peeling off, revealing the steel beneath....But I gotta learn that too someday, hehe.
Probus:
Yeah exactly....
It smells like "color dodge" far far away.
Mr.T:
Don't mind at all!! Very nice.
It almost look like it's illuminated by the moon or something. I like your middletones, which is what I don't like in my version, but I think yours could need a little highlighting though (I'm sketching away)......
by the way, funny how the air intake has gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. Or is it a missile now??
Thanks again!
