This is my first posting here, but I'm looking for good constructive criticism. This was drawn by Captain Obvious in the "Post Your Monsters" thread back around Halloween and I saw the picture and decided to try my luck at coloring it in. So, this is what I've done and am looking for some help to complete it.
I'm trying to get her face more realistic right now. It seems her face does not match up well with the rest of the details I've done in the dress and cloak. Also, the background is temporary. I just did it real quick to have something behind her for now and will rework it later. Not sure on a real background for her, so any ideas there would also be appreciated.

well, you could start by dropping a shadow on the face from the hood/hair. that way the face will not "pop up" as much. same thing for the cape and clothes... right now the drawing is flat. try to darken the areas that are into the shadows and highlights some elements. that's all for now. |
