This is a first attempt to draw something entirely with photoshop (without using a scan to start) and with the mouse. Used dodge/burn.
Comments/critiques are very welcomed ! (this is my first post on this forum...)
DeathPat.

don't use dodge&burn until you're a bit more experienced. people who are new to PS use it a lot, and it's way overvalued (word?). this is a rather nice pic for a start, you should do more of this to learn. |

I think it's not the colouring.
The face doesn't really have an expression, first try to work on that... at least I don't think satan looks like, I ain't scared of that guy Just an old guy, I'll whoop his ass
I'd make him more threatening, add more shape in his eyebrows and his more. Plus pull up his nose. And never forget, sharpen the ears, you want him to look supernatural right?
anyway, good luck

I didn't say it was only the colouring, tweek. Just pointed it out as a bad start. Other problems (not regarding the theme) are the absence of anything except the face... no neck, body, back, anything. Also, the lighting isn't very exciting. And for the devil... is it even supposed to be the devil? 'Devil's eyes' doesn't have to mean it's him in person .
Oh, I almost forgot... the face is totally monochromatic, and 'burned' eye sockets aren't really helping. Like big black holes in his head. Same thing with the nose shadow.
Just trying to help. |

i would rather see it as a "sketch".
i do not think, he forgot a background/neck/etc., i see it as a study, a study on how to use dodge and burn, or whatever. i think it worked out well.
well, maybe i am wrong, but i do not see it as a pic lacking composition.. it isn't a "real" pic, just a study. ok, i just noticed, i am starting to repeat myself. oh well.

You're right t4fF, when i started this drawing, it was just to try to draw with my mouse and to know how can I go into the details with the burn/dodge tools. I was not intended to make a complete scene ( sorry, I did not precise it in my first post... ).
For the title (devil's eyes), it was just to say that this man is possessed by the devil...he's in his eyes....sorry...
thank you for your comments.
