Here is a little something I did today. I dont know what I am doing...I am just going where the painting is taking me.
I was thinking of making the female figure some kind of monster or evil character and then putting a close up of her face kind of fading in the back ground...what do you guys think?
Also, please critique this if you see any problems with composition (its not done but you guys know what I am going to do) or with lighting...or whatever else....but let me hear some ideas of what I can do with this.
thanks...here is the pic now:

Her hands, face, hair, or just about anything else is not even painted yet....how can you not like them? (they dont exist)
What do you mean you dont like them? You dont like the position of them?
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas what I should do with this? theme wise....please give opinions.
thanks |

I think the torso and head are too small compared to the feet and hands.
You could make a NIN styled, something weird, out of this pic. |

i think Wild wanted to say, that the perpective or position of the left hand, or that sketch of it looks wrong, tilted and twisted. But well its jus a sktech yet, with nice lighting. |

I think that the biggest problem that I see with this pic is that you should make a lot more decisions before going into the details.
There should be a lot more planing. Composition, facial expressions, background, hand position are just a few things that you should plan out first. |

Well, actually I thought of the compostion that I wanted....
I wanted the girl up front and pointing at an angle to the face in the background.
But other than that, I see what you mean. I dont think I went into too much detail though...I just chose two light sources to hit the girl in the forground....I just dont know where I am going with this exactly....
so I am open to suggestions...
I guess I rendered the girl out a bit too much without working in the painting as a whole...this is due to the fact that I dont know where I am going with this. This is something that I started out of boredom...I didnt have anyone to tell what to do, so I am at a loss as to the theme of the painting.
This is going to be an image with no rhyme or reason basically. So if anyone wants to set in with an idea for this image, I will try to go that route. So I am ready for some input if anyone is interested in saying something.
Anyway thanks for the advice Shadowman, I will start with some sketches and thumbnails next time. (just didnt start out on the right foot with this image because I just started out painting a naked woman in my mind) |
