Well, I've been playing with colouring in PS. Originally I was going to use this drawing to figure out Painter 6.0. I can't figure it out...are there any good online tutorials? I can make painter do a bunch of "fancy" things that are cool but many of the bacic functions that I would think to be similar to PS do not seem to be in Painter? ie: alias and anti-alias line work. modifing selections? Where is just a normal paint brush or pen? are there paths/vector tools? That program is strange...any suggestions on painter basics? Any intro to Painter suggestions would be great...also:
Please comment on this colouring job...all crits and suggestions welcome!
Thanks
Below is my original post...comment of that if you like!

Well, it's not really Pikachu but it could be his Rat-like brother or something...
Here's a sketch I doodled up and thought it was sort of funny...I plan on colouring it...Here is a rought outlines version that I'm going to do some colour idea mock-ups with. If anyone wants to take a stab at it feel free...I'd love to see some other people's take on it?!

nope you don't. I think it is neato. I really like the sketchy one because I like seeing how people made things. |

they're both nice pieces to say the least, did you ink the second one by hand or PS? cause it's damn nice... how are you going to go about coloring it? and oh what method did you use to ink if you used PS?
Good stuff |

Thank for the responses!
I was getting a little worried...
xXxPZxXx - I know what you mean I think that seeing construction lines from other people is really important...sort of lets you see the person thought process
HyperiOn- Thanks
lildragon - the second one is a trace of the first one in Illustrator with the paint brush and a Wacom...works like freakn' magic once you play with the tolerance and pressure settings
Sorry about the seft pitty...I am now doing a lot of design work and only really get to hang out with illustrators here...I have attemted to colour it a couple of time now, I'll post something here when I get one working better...thanks again for the remarks, it makes me want to work on this again! |

These drawings are hysterical! Someone colour them! Please! (If I had the talent to do it, I would...) That crazy googly-eyed guy would look great all coloured up!
sos: You said you'd colour him when you had a chance... Stop working on those god-damned magazines and do some fun stuff! Work ethic, shmerk ethic!
