Hey Bibbe:
Thanks, glad you like it. I guess I didn't really give any background on this--- The square is a geometric shape I had to include in this piece as part of the parameters of an assignment. The excercise was to match the values of a colored shape to the greys. I know the maroon looks a tad darker than its grey counterpart---but the scan made the grey slightly lighter for some reason (also made the whole piece more blurry, but hey what's new?)
Also, the flat grey you see in the background was the darkest value I was allowed to use(i.e. no black). Medium was acrylic with some slight touch-up in PIP.
