cool, the animation looks like an typical "idle" animation, if you use 3d studio you can render the anim in frame by frame.
what company/group do you work for?
it would be great fun to see a homepage or something for it |

So you want to be like Blizzard? I'm assuming that's what you're saying.. seeing as that's a D2 character, and you're talking about D2...
I personally think that trying to copy Blizzard success is a bad move... people don't like clones... But whatever you want...
Essentially... if you want to find Blizzard's style... trow out everything you think you know about weight and general kinetics.
Take this for example...
A guy is armed with a sword.
WRONG the guy is armed with an axe.
That axe is 3 times as large as would be possible for him to accutally use.
He isn't using AN axe... he's using two, and has 2 in reserve.
He swings them around like crazy with exagerated motion.
Blizzard = Marvel comics of Games... That's essentially what they are... they take everything over the top... their animations are exagerrated... They're poses are exagerated... the poses all go to show power... EVERYTHING is a hyperbole in Blizzard graphics.... EVERYTHING...
And as far as I know.. there's no "easy" way to do anything... you have to find out how to do it, and do it. |

hmm..probably will get some rant on this post..but..uhm..first of all, titel Graphic Designer hangs with the knowledge of the trade and maybe some education..I gather from your question you have neither.
how they make it: with the tools they know, and with the knowledge of human anatomy and physical motion, and a tad of creative skill and knowledge of animation.
How you make it: With the tool you feel comfortabel with..there is no one "right tool"..its just what you can make with the tools you know, wether it beeing MAX, Lightwave, MAYA, NENDO, Poser, Bryce...just learn a tool...yes, 3D studio MAX is the predominatn tool in game production, so that is a good bet. Now, buy a book or three on human anatomy..and get cracking and make killer game graphics.
Actually..what you might ACTUALLY be asking is..what kinda fileformat/color paleet are they using, to produce game content...ask your programer..he should know..as he makes the engine.

hmmm... well it would seem that if this is your job, the person who helps you would need some sort of financial compensation.
Do they not have people at work who understand these sorts of graphical questions? Its a game company! |
