I gotta say that that is THE best claypot I have ever seen painted. GJ I dont know how to you would go about making it any better. But just remember that there are those of us out here that would give their big toe just to do that.

Notic you have a good handle on colour. And your image is looking good. However there are a few things you need to learn.
First you should look into learning One, Two, and Three point perspective. Here is a link for two point, it is a place to start. Two point perspective.

my overlay

In my quick overlay of your pot I used one point perspective. the way you have the pot in conparison to the horizon will make it so that the curvature of the top and bottom of the pot will be the opposite of each other. If this does not make sence try taking a Coke can and placing it on the table and sit down so that you are looking right into the middle of the can. If you are close enough and look hard enough you will notice what I am talking about.
I also drew a diagram for a box in one point perspective in the right top hand corner. You can see how the closer end of the box is taller than the far end. Use you imagenation that it is cylinder and you will see how the top and bottom lie in different planes.

I hope this helps.
JA

okay I guess it was not clear. I replaced my image in the last post. In the new one I have addressed a few different things.

First, I did an over paint showing the correct perspective that you would see the pot in.

Second I addressed the light issue I just lit from the right. The reason is illustrated in the top right corner. If you had the light source coming in from the back near the horizon then the pot would be a silluette(meaning that the object from our point of view would be very dark with some light on the edges of the pot)

Third because of where you originally had the light source the shadow would have been cast too the front left of the pot.

Fourth I drew a sketch of a scene of a street that we all have drawn at some point in time. It illustrates the idea of one point perspective. I hope that this helps more.
