Hi. I am working on a new sculpture and thought I would share with you some early pictures. This is a Roswell Alien. The body will be changing. I will make it shorter and much thinner. The arms will kind of be bent and the alien will have long hands and fingers.
Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! Glad you like it.
Actually, its not painted. You are seeing two differnt colored clays. I use Super Sculpey clay. The body is standard flesh color and the top is flesh mixed with blue.
I just ran out of blue colored sculpey and thats why only the head is blue.
By using colored sculpey it allows you to see detail a whole lot easier.
I have some other sculpts I'll post soon.
I actually have a cool future cyborg soldier that is cast in resin as a model. I will post it later. |

I always wondered why people make there aliens look very human. I'm not sure if your specific alien has a set roswell design to it. But every alien I see has two eyes, two arms, two legs. Usually 3 or 4 fingers though To get back on topic, I love the detail in the face, what kind of tools are used to achieve the detail? |

Well this Roswell alien is just my interpretation of it.
I use a few tools actually. I use various shaped dental tools, a toothpick, a small piece of wood with a curve on it and a few other tools. Also after I sculpt I use some oil paint turpentine and a small brush to smooth out the sculpey.. Basically whatever does the job.
This sculpt is about 8 inches tall. Thanks for looking at it! |
