Right i originally thought this piece was finished, but i now feel that it could do with some slight improvements. just to let you know, this is my first piece of fully digital work, and i used a nifty Wacom graphire pad, its completely changed the way in which i work and thanks to it i was able to do this within 2 hours ( just wanted to prais WACOM )
anyway heres the piece thats ive titled AQUA.

When I first saw the title I thought. Good Greef more nudity. But in hind sight, glad I clicked it. Ideas to improve are the contrast of the skin to create more depth and 3-Dishness (my new word). I think the tranition of the hair from out of the water into the water was well achieved. Yet I would like to see you add more detail into the hair that is out of the water, without fussing with the wet hair until you have completed the dry hair.

like the image, but her right eye looks a bit wonky. I've moved it around a bit and butchered the hair in the process .... see if your happy with it though.

I don't know why but this reminds me of Manara.. bah, nevermind me it's 5 am.
And yes the eyes are too far appart. Perspective issue here.
I also thought it would be some nude art again ! It's a very interesting piece actually. Is it part of a serie or just 'poped up' like that ?
Yes I'm curious. |

Thanx for the advice guys.
yeah i realised that the eye needed to be placed closer to the nose but was too lazy to sort it out, Davem i think the eye might look a little to close now, nevermind ill try getting that correct tonight.
i sorted the hair out last night and its now got a very visible transition between whats in the water and whats not, shes just submirged from the water so shes got no dry hair.
the jaw line looks fine to me, and i dont feel that i should change it, but your more than welcome to mess around with it yourself, if it does look better afterwards ill change it.
well i feel this is a good start to my digital art carreer, and i should improve with time.
Thanx guys, and would i be able to see some of your early works?
P.S. it just poped into my head. |

*turns off the kinky-thread-title-alert*
Well, Davem was right, but now it needs an ear and the jawline shortened. The eyes look too saturated to me. Place the highlights about the same place on both eyes and light the part of the iris opposite to the highlight (referring to the middle of the pupil). Did this make sense? ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Great work so far!
I like the colors and the feel. The only thing holding it back is the drawing. I did a quick sketch of the upper face as an example. I just injected some more form to the underlying structure. Just a short note on eyes: Remember that they are spheres. So that every thing around them conforms to that structure. Eyelids wrap around and even the pupils have perspective. This is especially evident in the difficult angle which you chose to portray.
Once again great work so far.
Keep kickin ass!

Well i always knew the eyes were a bit off, this whole piece started out as a 2 minute sketch, then i began to mess around with the colours and so i ended up with what i showed you. im really going to have to spend more time on sketching first.
thanx alot for the advice and encouragement KOryH, you seem to be a man in the know about these things.
again has anyone got any examples of there early digital work, id really appreciate it if i could see some. |
