The intro image is really nice and grabs your attention. I can see the effect that you are going for but I had my browser window set to a larger size and images started to repeat. thus it took some time to see what was going on. I would think about maybe making your background images bigger even if that just means they have black added. This might look better than the image repeating itself.
With the gallery section, you use a combination of years and page numbers. I would have the full year ie '1999' instead of '99'. Some navigation buttons (ie forward, back etc) would help out navigating through the site. |

the curtain images repeat for me too. i always like my browser big. maybe the curtains are a little too intense. their pinkness and the brown of the floor really clash, in my opinion. also, i had trouble finding the menu 'n stuff. i took for granted the white text at the bottom of the screen was just the usual copyright mumbo jumbo. maybe a bigger, more prominent menu is needed. .. but good work so far. |

one thing you might like to try with the curtains is take them from a background image and placing the image in a table. Then on the image tag, table tag, td tag, set the width and height to either fixed properties ie width="50px" or percentage ie width="100%". This might stretch the images a bit but at least it will get rid of the repeating pattern. Another thing to note, is that percentages (ie width="100%") works slightly different in netscape and IE. At the moment 90% of the market is IE and you already have some ill effects at the moment - maybe it is trading one problem for another. Should you use this idea, another couple of tags that are helpful to achieve the desired effect are:
<body marginwidth='0' marginheight='0' rightmargin='0' leftmargin='0' topmargin='0' bottommargin='0'>
and
<table border='0' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='100%'>
Hope that helps. |

alright, here's the low-down dude:
intro screen, very nice. make the text, however, on the bottom, red, and the link as well as the screensize white. a downsize of the text is appropriate, you want your viewer to look at the image, not the text.
the inside is a mess. frames came in for a while there, but nested tables are big right now just for the aesthetical appeal. i agree with past posters, make the curtains less of an obstruction and confinement and more of a decoration to be admired. obviously, if possible, find a hosting that doesn't post little geocities things in the corner.
lastly, if you're serious about making this page more professional and resume-like, you need to do typing that people are impressed with. the title of the page is something you don't want to do .. it's not a good read. the multiple colors of text in the news section makes it hard to concentrate on what it's saying. and just a little developer hint: making text smaller goes a long way.

thanks matt and mendler all very good points and most of them i already know....its always a hard battle to balance function and art. i think i tried usin those images in tables instead of backgrounds once b4...but ill try it again. according to the splash page text...i did once have it all white and at the bottom solely because i liked the image alone but most people dont want to read fine print and fuse over it not workin on 1024 x 768 format so i made sure they read that til i fix my problems...i also didnt add that inside homepage table til jus a couple days ago....i wanted to make the site more personal so viewers would keep comin back to check out whats goin on. overall its been a pain in my ass and because i like it so much im stickin with it |

i didnt read through completely all the crits so i dont know if this has been mentioned. maybe add another set of the buttons between your character guy on the news, i didnt notice them at first. you might want to get some kind of reference for those curtains too, they're not looking a whole lot like clothe right now. |
