Of some reason I got extremely inspired when I looked at this pic. Don't ask me why. I really want to paint something similar now
I think this pic could turn into something really good. So my advice for you is to do a little more on it, at least give the whole pic some color, make sure the perspective is 100% correct, and then I'll give it a proper crit. I really look forward to seeing your finished version!

Hmm. There are lots of unfinished palces in your picture and the sketchy first lines look like you will have some difficuties with the hand, arm, shoulder and neck. Try to define the shape a little bit more. I know this is not easy. But they will be important for your picture to be believable. Maybe you shuold use some tricks to hide the anatomy a bit. (Like dramatic light and shadow of the lantern) The idea of the composition looks promising. And you did a nice rendering of the reflecting light in the face. Hope I am not to tough with you. I do not yet have a feeling for how much critics people accept here on this forum. - cause Im still very new here. Keep going! |

I updated it a bit, but I'm having a bit of trouble making the cloth look convincing...it's supposed to be silk. Oh yeah, the handle for the lantern is supposed over his thumb. I tried to fix the arms anatomy a bit...not sure if I fixed it or not...I'm kinda blind on things like that.

Hey everybody...I had this pic posted earlier, but it died pretty fast, so I'm just trying to get it noticed. I am in need of some critiques and tips. Thanks for checking it out.
