Thanks for the help on the last post guys!! I've learned alot. Sub div was very fun to do, much easier than spline too but i still need to pratice more. This face basicly took me one entire day to do
3dsmax 4
i did this face on one side and then mirror it, and move them closer together. Is there anyway i can just do one side and 3d max can just automaticly let me see the other half side of the face?

yeah, you can. just select all of the one side, hit mirror, and select the option (instance). now everything you do to one side will mirror on the other. when you are finished modelling you can just connect the two sides and weld each connecting point together.
as for this model, it's pretty good for a first try. it might be good in the future to have a drawing planned out for the profile and front view of the character, to improve accuaracy. and after you've welded the two sides together, it's a good idea to fine tune the points so you don't get that seem in the middle. |

Thats pretty good. Youl find that your faces will look better depending on how many you do from start to finish. I think I modelled about 5 shocking ones from start to finish before they started to look good.
The other peice of advice is to look at as many reference pictures as you can.
Have a look at www.spiraloid.com its a great resource for subd surface modelling. You can avoid wrinkles in places you dont want by keeping all your polygons 4 sided. It also helps with animation.
keep at it! |

Wow! You learning fast!
Btw, there is again few bugs in the mesh.
There are basic rules of head modeling,...sucks.. .my poor english doesn't allow me to make a good explanation of them...
Anyway, look at this pic, may be you understand what i mean...
It's about directions of the isoparms.
Yesterday i've tried to make a correct face, following these rules, after 4 hours that's what i've got.
Hope you will find that helpful.
Good luck. |

Hey dr. bang, your face has improved! How do you like box modeling? You seem to have jumped head first into it and you are doing well! Good luck on your modeling |

Hum, I'm not sure I want to help you if you kiss me .
Well, your model is cool but there's a few mistakes, especially in the details (nose, mouth...).
First of all, you should try to use some references pics when you create a model.
I also suggest you to read some articles on www.3dluvr.com
keep us informed with your progress !
