Here's something I cranked out these past couple nights. Probably took about 2 hours total to get everything right. Gonna start on painting if nothing needs to be fixed. Critiques, please.

The face feature are too harsh, masculine.
The pelvis needs more work, imho, the waistline should be shrunk and accentuated =).
Like this it looks a little bit like a transvestite, if you want harsh words. I am sure you don't want harsh words, so I'll take that back before I get flamed .
But of course colouring changes a lot, so facial stuff should be worked on in the final stages imho. Depends.

This is a pretty good attempt and I'm glad you posted the source image. Some comments:

1) The jawline needs to be a little more shapely as per the source image. Try not to break this line with the back of the cheek line like you have. This is only a soft line on the source image and not as pronounced as you have it.

2) The lips could be a little wider / longer and try to keep them curvy and not flat

3) Where the cheek line hits the nose, it is ontop of the nasel and not half way in like you have it. This makes it look a little funny.

4)On her left eye, try to "flatten" it a little bit. Also just add a faint soft line under the eye to represent the shape of the bottom eye lid and give it that smooth shape and depth. Be careful though not to make it look like a wrinkle.

5) Little bit more curves in the hair. Looks a little flat at the moment.

6) Notice in the drawing how her right shoulder is higher than her left, this is the opposite in the photograph and will lead to all sorts of 'structural' problems in the shape of the lower body.

7) Add a few more lines on the bikini top to help give the breasts some shape.

8) Try to get the hand a little bigger and have the row of the top of the knuckles where the curve of her hips would be underneath. At the moment they are too close to the hands.

In general, when drawing females, more is less. Every time you add lines to the face you increase a women's age (generally). Try to use curved lines and don't have them cut by other lines. I'm not trying to rip apart your image but just give you some ideas

Thank you for the suggestions, Matt. And thanks to everyone else for their comments. I've already started on the painting, but it won't be too difficult to implement Matt's suggestions. The progress of the painting can be found in this thread:
