I think it looks good, it reminds me of a mix of Computer Arts (UK) and CG Channel.
The only gripes I have are the things you mentioned was unfinished, so not much point in commenting that, and also it's a pretty looong page. Comfortable colourscheme too. Looks good. Some "empty" spaces here and there, but they will probably be filled up with minibanners ( I guess )
That's all.

Thanks for taking a look and the nice comments.
Yeah it does have a flavour of www.ComputerArts.co.uk for sure. I was always influenced by that site from the very first design of my site. Its just a class act, hard not to love it and want to use some of its ideas Hopefully Im not copying though.
I`m not familiar with the other site you mentioned though. I`ll have to check that one out.
Your right the spaces will be used up eventually. Probably a combination of ads that lead to other parts of the site, maybe spotlighting artists too and the odd amazon ad. Its a tough one that though. The way text can change the length of the columns makes it difficult. CSS can lock the text but if you dont have the font then I cant finely control the layout, and mac seems to render fonts slightly differently too. I may just lock in fixed size boxes and make sure the text cant expand to break that length.
Any mac users do me a screenshot?
And the page length. I think I need to find out more about how much people like to see on a front page. I might drop the objects of desire piece at the bottom of the page. Seems more out of place than anything else.
Anyway thanks for the feedback. |

The site looks clean and the layout is quite nice. I appreciate that you have alot of content but think the layout should be half as big. The header is a bit too big and I don't think you'd lose much reducing the size of the "home / articles / turorials" and the "home \ home is where the art is" section. The colour scheme is pleasant on the eye too. |

Hiya,
I`ve been sweating over a re-design of my site and come to ask for some feedback from you clever creative peeps. My sites topic is art so its kinda important it looks good.
Heres my problem. Ive got a lot of content such as resources (over 1000 pages) but I want to take the site into a more magazine based style. It has to load quick even though the pages can be pretty big and graphically loaded. So I`m really playing with ideas right now on what kind of regular articles to slap in there and how to balance everything.
This is just a one page layout test. None of the links will take you anywhere. There are a few ads there to test how the placement of those look but please dont click any. The ads are not supposed to run on this url. Its just for test purposes.
Any feedback, as harsh as ya like would be very appreciated.
The layout is designed for 800x600 users taking into account that 640x users will be able to read the main central content too without scrolling. The logo is unfinished and so are the icons below the navigation. Its evolving as the hours pass really. Keep tweaking and changing.
So comments then. On the design and content would be super. Especially like to know what youd like to see on a site like this too.
