Here's a little 3D face I did tonight in my spare time. It's my first real attempt at using subdivision techniques. I did a patch head some years ago but nothing since. I think the eyes are a bit too big, which makes her look like some psycho-freak alien. So, what do you all think ? Good enough to continue and skin ?

could be a funny alien type of face. But for a realistic human face there's quite some things that need to be tweaked. Even though not everyone look alike, I think I can safely say that:
the eyes arent nescessarilly so much too big, but they should be closer to eachoter, also further into the head. The cheeks doesn't seem to go around the eyes, study the skull shape around the eyes (skull bones). also the cheeks around the nose need some more definition, now it kinda looks like a heavy plastic sergary in the face. And, the lips doesn't seem to go enough into the head, especially on the sides, it should go in. And the chin should be longer from bottom to the mouth. It's hard to tell from the angle you've rendered it in, but it seem a bit flat as a whole too.

sorry if I sound harsh, not my intention.

Hey thanks for the tips, I'll try to tweak it when I have more time. I did a little quick screenshots montage so you can see her from the working angles, which I think makes her look less deformed. Enjoy :

As a special limited offer to YOU, if you look at this reply in the next 16,000,000 hours, you will see 2 other test renders I did not so long ago with some primitive cyclop head I did to test the render possibilities of the software I use. Enjoy :

I think the eyes still need to be closer together... and the chin jaw be a little more narrow? I dunno, play with it...

I like the head but I agree, the eyes are a bit far apart. Nice rendering too.

Sorry for the long response time, the electricity in my apartment has been blowing up our computers again, so I'm in the process of fixing all that (yay).

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'll try to work on it when my computer works.

Laemtao : I'm using Softimage XSI 1,5 with the default renderer (with Final Gathering), which is MentalRay if my memory is still working properly...
