especially his expression is fine. remembers me of that kind of old, bad-mooded barkeepers in dark stinking bars with sailors inside.

Seems good to me, but his jaw is a bit small for the rest of his face. Maybe enlarging his chin a bit. |

I dig it. Even with no color, the blue is a good choice, it sets the mood. You did a good job making the face the first thing your eye goes to, because of the darks and lights, and detail there. I think the chin looks fine, it's kind of like he lost his teeth and so the chin sits up higher than it normally would.
I might make the background even darker, or throw a shadow shape back there to make it even more moody. |

He`s a jolly fellow huh?
I`m not sure about this. I obviously dont like an ugly creature to look at, but apart from that, it is very nicely done. Its just the shade. It seems so dreary, matches the guys face though! Looks just fine without colour, perhaps better for having no colour too. |
