Well time to mess with a established design and twist it into something new. now I tried to keep the edge design thing going and add a hatch back with the usual Mustang markings.
well got to tweak the shape some more... but I kind of like it so far.

Hey that's pretty cool. Very euro-style, with a hint of the new focus and mondeo in the front grill. Can't wait to see more of it. |

As much as I absolutely hate the Mustang (and pretty much all American cars), that is pretty smooth. If you want to make it the 'fastback', tho, try giving it a more "swooping" curve going into the back... hard to explain, but just kind of think of maybe the old '65 Fastback, or even newer cars like BMW's fast/hatch-back... or maybe the 2000 Toyota Celica or the late 90's Nissan 300ZX. While cool, the cab on this car has the same problem that the current mustangs have -- they don't look like sports cars, but Sedans with vents on the side.
You've got an AMAZING grasp of technical design, I love your work. Keep it up! |

Hey thanks Vgta and TremorX... I think you are trying to tell me to blend the rear window and the lower body together. No hard edges there right
(((((((they don't look like sports cars, but Sedans with vents on the side.))))))
I think that was the Idea,,, the car was always really designed for the family in mind. But had mutated thought the years. They just add a little more sport look too it where needed.. like the 1994-1999 looks so much like the japaneese styling.
Well any how, just trying to stay true to the current ford styling. well just see how it turns out. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Have you seen this baby,, this is a 87-93 mustange convertable turned into a roadster style of car. using many of the early stylings.. I think this thing is so cool.

HEHE I own a 98 Mustang, and yeah the whole idea behind the SN95 styling was that of a GT car (european Grand Tourin for those not familiar)
Looking at the drawings again, the rear panel reminds me a little bit of the Stillen SMK (mercedes) that is used for racing.
I forget what Ford is calling their new design ideas, my take on it is that all those Volvo designer guys were finaly let loose. The new mustang comes out next year I believe, completely new platform and body styling.
Okay sorry, I digressed big time there, back to your design. Really nice lines, one thing you might consider (since you seem to be early on the modeling phase) is to have the exhaust come out the sides. Like the Roush or the new Cobra R, also I don't know if you are are familiar with the mustang FR500
again, kick ass work, keep us updated |

hmmm intersting,, seen this cars before... I think thats the way I'm heading... i might try different variations of the design.
yeah I too have owned mustangs. I had an 1980 notchback.. But got rid of it. Now I have a RED 1990 hatch and Black 1987 notch. Just got done yesterday replacing the water pump on the Black one. They are allot alike. But the notch back is a little lighter in the rear and haddles real good. But the 1990 is really a nice car that the Wife drives daily. I got it for me so I had to go buy the black one and get rid of the old 1980 model. Now my brother drives it. Anyhow
Yeah I like the side mounted pipes too. I think I'll do it just for you... How about two pipes on each side. maybe a kinda square ish shape to them. ehh we'll see. I got lots of mustang magazines to chomp through.

Hey cool, the side pipes would look awesome. Two on each side.
Thanks
I had a chance of riding on a 5.0 modified to no end. This thing was pushing somewhere around 430hp at the wheels, as you can imagine tons of torque too. That much power is just absolutely crazy but such a rush.
The only prolbem I have had with mine is on the electrical system. They are just not that good on them. Besides that the car runs great. I still want to get my hands on a Saleen heheh
Oh yeah, before I forget, your website is not coming up.
Can't wait to see the progress on this. |
