If you have time, throw me your thoughts and ideas on this. I'd apprecitate them much.
I started this yesterday, worked on it for about 8 hours now.
This is done with Prisma Color Pencils if you couldn't tell.
125% shrunken down from the scan. Image is beind done on a 18x12inch sheet.

Original picture.
Mainly I was looking for feedback on the Face and hair. The shirt I just started and is just in the beginning stages.
Things I have in mind:
1) I plan to use more brown shadows on the face as seen in the picture.
2) Cut the cheek/jaw in a bit with some shadowing. Seems like to much is there.
3) Lips are to small I think, I might try and make them bigger later.
4) Eyes to nose distance is off, not sure I can change that...
For number four, I could possibly fool the eye when/if I cut the jaw line in more. Then maybe I could pull the hair line down a bit more. What do you guys think on that? She does have a big forhead though
Anyone know any prisma color tips for getting rid of color on the paper?
Again, thanks for your comments and time. Have a gREEEAATTT DAY!

I have never used prisma colours before, therefore I don't think I can speak much about it.
But as for the drawing, I think it needs more work. I can't really go into detail. The lips, eyes are too small. The nose is narrow.
It looks like a different person from the photo.
What I sometimes do before colouring a piece, is to scan the pencils in, open it up in photoshop, scale it down and try to overlay it over the photo and see if they match up. It's a quick way to spot all the 'off' spots.

[ArtKeo]- Thanks for your C&C, I think I'll try your photoshop scan trick next time. Sounds like a great idea.
I'm in the process of fixing some of the messups. I'm might need to start over. But I'll try and salvage it if I can.
Would anyone else like to comment. Last time I'll bump. Thanks for your time. |
