I'm 15, and I don't know how I can get better. I just draw. Is there any classes or books that could help me out? maybe something where i learn where muscles are.
Here is the dragon I did it on a car ride with a Bic pen. Any crits or ideas? |

Look for any book on drawing anatomy and it will help you learn where to draw muscles.
Also look at muscle magazines with the steroid filled men with rippling muscles. Then you can see where to draw muscles and how toned muscles look.
Things like sports illustrated swimsuit and stuff don't help much with drawing women, even if you draw a perfect replica your women will usually end up look short and anorexic.
With people in reality they are 6 heads tall, but in drawings a male figure is about 8 heads tall, and females are 7 or 7 1/2 heads tall.
That means pretty much if u lied their head 8 times on itself that would be the height of the character. And well, with dragons, just let your imagination fly. |

The only way to get better at drawing is to draw. Books will help you as will classes, but you won't improve much if at all without practice.
If you want to read about the muscles and construction of the body, you should pick up some anatomy books or life drawing books. Constructive Anatomy(George Bridgman), Dynamic Figure Drawing(Burne Hogarth), and Bridgman's Life Drawing are some good books that I have. |

yeah, just draw, draw, draw... draw everything and everyone you like... draw your maths teacher in a bathtube, draw elves that make minced meat ot of orcs or vice versa, draw dragons in every way you can imagine, draw people in high tech armory which is as wide that they cant go in any house with, draw striped elephants that have sex with horned mosquitos while a drug smoking harlequin is taking photos of that just draw and let your fantasy fly. maybe you could read some basic things about anatomy, but not so much that it makes you draw people in every pose all day long...
just keep crazy =) |

Like they said, just draw.
But also, look just as much as you draw. Read comics and mangas of your favorite artists, buy their art books, learn what you like, and apply it. You can learn alot from just viewing art. |
