Hi All,

My son loves sea animals and also robotic things. His favorite see animal is the killer whale. So, I decided to make a gift for him and make a mechanical orca. Here is the sketch and the work in progress:

This is the initial sketch done in PS

This is the beginning stages of coloring

This is a close-up of the head

I still have a lot of cleaning up to do and a lot of reworking, so be gentle on me . In any case, crits and comments are welcome!

This looks very cool. Only one crit jumps out at me, and that is that the tail looks crooked. I think the right hand fluke should be a little smaller to create perspective, or it should point more horizontally.

I noticed that some of the perspective is lost (especially on the tail) because the underside has not be painted yet. As a result, the tail portion looks almost like its "bent" wrong or something. Based on the drawing (where the tail looks right ... at least to me ), I think this will straighten itself out once completed.

Thanks for the comments!

BTW - I have a long way to go on this one (water reflections, a background, a chrome-likeunderside, etc.)

It reminds me of the Reaver in StarCraft(by Blizzard Entertainment)

Oh, Yep it looks very well.

Ah, i don't know, if the choice of color is really the best.. :& somethin disturbs me.. perhaps its the expected BLACK of an Orc.

Wow!
Cyber-animals are my favorite!
Great work.
Only one crit, more detail, more pipes and gearwork and tech stuff.
