I am thinking of turning this into a web site interface. It is far from done but i would like to get any idea's before i finish it.
Oh, just something to think about. When i post in your guy's threads i am very respectful. I say nice things. I crit and give openons, i even help people out when they ask questions. Please do the same for me. LOKI, you know when i post in your threads they are nice. I do not flame you guys. That has got to show something about my integrity and sencerity. I just hope you find it in your heart to do the same for me, SHALOM,, hebrew for peace.

I can sorta imagine this as a webpage interface, but I think it's a little over-zealous, as I think sites should keep a relatively simple format... however, if you're planning on going through with it, I'd suggest a toned background, like a warm grey, or something similar... the machine on the white background is way too saturated, and will be displeasing to the eye when you have it finished.
After giving it a background color theme, mute the colors of the mechanics a bit... and visit a site with similar themes, and take the best elements from them... I see potential in this idea, but frankly, not much.
Good luck, in any case! |

It's okay, but I can't tell if you are making it semi-organic, or can't get lines sharp enough. Some edges are weak and the design seems a bit confusing. Perhaps a simpler idea with the same rendering effects would have a better impact? Anywho, just seems a bit distracting if you are going to use it as a navigational interface. Woa, god job neil, especially for that silvery knob thingie, i dont think its good for web layout but its definitely good for a art picture. Anyway, a tip to stop flames on your post is to post your own work, no matter how bad it look. |

Umm...well I wouldn't suggest it as a web interface cause it's so damn confusing. It does however look kind of interesting if you were to turn it into some kind of picture. Definately listen to these other guys they know what they are talking about.
ergh neil you really shouldnt start off all of your threads with the "don't flame me" stuff. Believe me, it only makes it worse. |

I agree.
Neil, if you really wanna put all this stuff behind you, then you have to forget about it along with everyone else. If you keep bringing up the past it's bound to jump up and bite you in the ass.
As for your image, I think it is a vast improvement from your previous attempts. It remains a little confusing to me though, perhaps if you added shadows/light sources to the different sections of the image it would help seperate the various elements. For example, make a light source coming from the top and to the right, and shadow the left side of each piece in your image. This will help seperate all the different gadgets. Just a suggestion. |

I think it's looking ok so far stneil. But maybe you should stop and think a little about what it is and how it works... maybe spend a few minutes thinking about the mechanics of it (hinges, wires, hydraulics, etc) to make it look a little more like something we can relate to... right now it looks like a very random piece of something I can't begin to understand. Go look at some drawings by Feng or Francis that have some industrial design to it... it might help you. |
