I heard somewhere that if you yell fire you'd get more attention. Hope it works.
Anyways, I need some help, this is something I've been working on for the last couple of days, but I am running into a dilema. Okay there are seven (Angels) figures surrounding the eart, each holds a vail which contains a plague (took the idea from the bible). So my problem here is figuring out how I am going to light it. They are in space I guess on in another plain of existence. As you can see it's very early WIP. So I still need to add more detail.
Thanks

Hey great concept for a illustration.

hmmm 2 things

1. Maybe lower the camera a little and work on your perspective of the figures. Add more depth with the figures, but stay high enough to see the earth.

2. Instead of being in space, perhaps a celestial room, looking into a raised pool of water with the earth in the water. Lighting from reflections of the water and perhaps have one of them pouring their vial into the water. Hence spreading thier plague on the earth.

Anyway great idea, make sure you keep updating as you go.

If you want to keep the space setting, you might want to light the scene from the top left, perhaps from a distant star. That way the back of the foreground figures heads would be lit as well as the front of the figures towards the back. And you might want to throw a weaker secondary light of a different color from the front of the picture, to provide extra contrast.

Very cool.

Hippie: I like the celestial room idea, thanks. Yeah I was thinking about the camera angle too. Thanks for the comments

Shade01: Cool man, I'll start playing with it.

Anyone else?
How about cool armour? I am trying to give them some cool designs to their gear. I've been looking at Brom and Justin Sweet stuff, anyone else have any suggestions, comments?

Perhaps use the earth's reflected sunlight to create that "odd" look (like when kids use a flashlight to make scary faces) and the a secondary source from a star...

I agree with changing the camera angle a little and working on the perspective of the figures. It would probably help a lot to get people to pose for you

You say they are around the earth right? The earth is pretty bright, maybe it's the source of the light? Maybe each of their cups could be illuminated in some sickly, greenish-yellow way to illuminate their faces and somewhat illustrate what's in the vials?

Another thing is that I can't really tell if these are men/women or both. Maybe work on that a little bit

I dig the costume on the figure in the top right.

Keep working on it, can't wait to see it in the gallery section

Beth

Cool more help.

Darken: Yeah I was thinking along those lines too. It's the secondary light that's kinda puzzling right now. As to how it will affect the rest of the scene.

Jezebel: I did leave the figures more ambiguos than I had thought, there will be two females. I'm really trying to come up with some cool costume design.
Oh and yeah I'll be changing the camera angle, I didn't touch the drawing at all this weekend and when I saw it fresh I got some new ideas.
Now I need to get my lazy ass friends to pose for me

thanks again for the help.
