This is supposed to be concept "art" for a new game/mod.
It still needs some work on the gun and hands, but I don't know..it's starting to look a little boring, and I have no idea why. Any help on how to proceed is very appreciated.

i see what you mean. after a staring out it for a while i thought of a few things:
the top of her cheeks should be squishing up on her eyes a little more, so they shouldnt be quite as open i dont think.
grimy it up a bit and maybe give it some more colors, like a red tint to the lighting, or maybe blue highlight and midtones and darker shadow for a night scene with some harsh yellowwhite highlights from the gunblast.
Give her some smudges and grime on her face and clothes, maybe have a tendril of hair out of place. add some sweat to her, and some wear * tear to the amor. Maybe a shell or two ejecting over to the left.
her head is really contrasting with the background, everything is blue grey and black except her head.
a little more detail to the background might help. draw it in decent detail and only blue a little to show motion, maybe some mold on the wall and a old poster or something.
maybe emphasize the motion of her arms a little like you did with the gun.
the com unit on her head seams like it is stuck to her head, maybe more shadow where it extends out from her face.
i think you have a really good start on it and i hope it helps. i'm not an expert by far... |

man, that's looking really cool... metal petal already pointed out the important ones, so i just wanted to say i thought it was cool that you had the handgun's slide partially open... very nice touch... most people would've gone for fully open or fully closed... :P great job, can't wait to see it completed!
cheers,

Unless she has her head tilted, her eyes arent aligned correctly. Thats my opinion though.
