Hi there!
The still from the animation looks great!
I've done some 3D (Lightwave) and that is just awesome!
But since you wanted some crits on the aesthetics of the models..here we go:
The grunt seems to have really heavy legs..they are almost thicker than his torso. You might want to rethink that part.
The alien ship has agreat concept, but the lower spike (the one below the weapons) looks kinda funny...at the last perspectove shot of the model it reminded me somewhat of a duck).
You might want to loose that alltogether..
The alien ship looks really "alien", you might want to try to get the guns to look alien, too. Maybe an asymetrical array?
Well... I am rambling...
Show off more of your work and give us the URL to the clips!! 8-)) |

Hello everybody, this is my first post on Sijun, so please wait at least until my fifth post to rip me to shreds Even though I do a lot of 2d stuff, this happens to be 3d. These are some models from a 3D short I'm working on entitled Renaissance 2050. I'll be posting stuff periodically to get feedback from the big brains of this board.
This first pic is the model of the primary enemy ship that is faced in the film. It is a small alien fighter.
This pic is of the grunt marine class soldier. It dawned on me after the render that I forgot to turn on smoothing for a couple of surfaces, and I'm still texture mapping this one.
This is a screenshot from the animation.
In particular, I'd like to get some feedback on the aesthetics of the models.
Thanks.
