I like the texture and the color, the first thing I notice was no direct light source. So I would suggest maybe going for some more contrast as well as light and shadow.
If your trying for a nondirectional "omni" light then i cna't help you I have a hard enough time with lighting on my own.
Keep going looks great so far. |

best thing to do:
take an apple, put it next to a lamp, switch the lamp on, draw it in pencil (3B works well), analyze the shadows and try to understand why they are like you see them... when you don't like working in traditional medium, use photoshop/painter/whatever, but work in grayscale at first...
hmm... and you shouldn't use airbrush for the drop shadow...
