the splash screen doesnt match the rest of the site..
most of the sections dont have anything under them...
there is no news page
no links page
no "about me" page
the navigation works well tho
nice little expandable thing
oh and the graphics on the top just seem to get cut off immediately on the right side of the image... those gradient things should keep going till they disappear or something
also that self portrait or whatever it is on the opening page doesnt really match the rest of the design of the site
good work so far otherwise tho.. good luck websites are hard |

Here is a temp. version of a website for me. I thought it would be a good idea to have a offical place to post my images. I want my site to be simple and easy to navigate while at the same time reaching all my material. Please leave some comments. ie loads too slow, ideas for easier navigation, or hosts with with more avialable space than 5 mb.

Take that splash page and match that "look" for the rest of your site. It lured me into the site, making me hope for more, only to meet the garish blue and yellow.
For a 2 color site, it loaded slowly on my T1. Optimize your files.
The icons in your banner should do something. I clicked on them like an idiot.
I don't think you need the large image on your entry. Roger Black says make your splash page a poster. Yours is. You don't need 2 posters.
I like the expanding menu. I used that same format for a recent site. It makes good use of previously loaded images to save time. Pre-load some more stuff (via javascript) to speed up the menu.
I'm not a big fan of "links for links sake" pages, so I didn't miss the links. I think links should be within the context of your site, not added on as an afterthought.
Hope that helps. |
