they make me sick...i am like watching one right now...he is like 12 and raping like he has lived like a gangster and knows all about it lol.
Why do people like listening to little rap kids who are just rhyming and walking in baggy clothes?!?
btw, i like rap, but done by respectable artists, not little kids.... |

They do it for the same reason that all the 13 year old white kids (garage bands) in the suburbs write crappy goth Jonathan Davis lyrics about how they want to cut their wrists because "it's all too much/all of this shit/i cannot go on/this is it"; they do it because even they may have never experienced it themselves, they've listened to enough music to know what to talk about. If you know what to talk about, then you know what to sell, and therefore you become badass.

does image really matter? as long as the lyrics are cool, itll be "hot". as long as the words appeal to someone, itll be "hot". just cause lil bow wow, who im assuming youre talking about is 12, does it matter that he's 12 and rappin about stuff he prolly lived with? the songs still have nice beats, and to me, the beats are what count! (you can always get instrumentals) |

Funniest thing you will ever see: A Jr High kid from Maine trying to act black. I don't think I can ever figure out why people act like that, probably because I'm too busy laughing at them. Losers. |

Here are some of my favourite HipHop formations - give 'em a listen,. if you don't know them:
* A Tribe Called Quest
Masters of the 'native tounge' style, great grooves - intelligent(!) lyrics and nice beats.
* De La Soul
Also 'native tounge'. Their first two albums are the only good ones though IMHO.
* The Pharcyde
Awesome LA formation that has been around for more than six years if I'm remembering right. Based in Los Angeles, but no gangsta-style.
* The Roots
* Spearhead
Michael Franti and Spearhead are awesome. Intelligent lyrics and good music.
* Neneh Cherry
Didn't release anything in years, but I like her - only some of her songs are real hip hop though.
* Gang Starr
As far as I know also not existing anymore. But great jazzy stuff. Dj Guru went then on to do his 'JazzMaTazz' series - also recommended |
