Ok, I started this image just as a doodle on my lunch break working on the figure. I liked the figure enuf to want a background. Started posting here to get some help, thanks for the responses.
Here is a little timeline of how the piece has progressed.
So from there I started working on this finished piece. Well, not really finished but getting there.
Would love to get some feedback, I know the composition isn't great so don't kill me with that, if you have suggestions would love to hear them.
Thanks |

The smoke in the backround looks backlit, slightly to the left. Your fatman is lit from the front, which would be okay, if he was also lit a little from the left. IMO.
Royal
P.S. Don't forget his shadow.

The shapes of the factory building are odd... your edges are extremely sharp on it, and therefore. *gah* Keep in mind that as thing recede more and more...they get greyer and mesh in with the surroundings more and more. |

Looking at his thighs, I would have thought he would have to have a huge butt. Would that show from the angle we are looking at?
Just a thought. Looks good though. |

redcom: thanks, I think it's a guy.
SpiralEye: I haven't forgot the shadow thanks for the reminder though. I see what your saying about the fog will try to fix that.
EvilToylet: I see what your saying still trying to work out would it get grey or more orangeish, is that a word? I always have problems with atmospheric perspective. Thanks for the tip.
Vesuvius: toes should be pointed out more I think, thanks for the comment been so focused on the background and lighting didn't see that until you pointed it out now it is glaring at me.
zero21: good question and I'm really not sure. I guess it could I was going for a very, very fat mans torso. Like rolls of fat, then for some reason I drew the really powerful legs,(maybe from carrying all that weight around). So I don't know if the butt would be buns of steel, buns fo flesh.
thanks everyone for the comments, I will attempt some changes and then repost in this thread in a few days. |
