1st attempt at posting, so lets see if this will work. http://www.tbns.net/zero21/pics/thelot.jpg
(Can someone tell me how to do it wif out having to click the link, so the pic just shows up here?)
Very beginnerish attempt at drawing a pic and throwing some colour at the monitor. So the guy has no head (am working on that)
Basically looking for any tutorials in addition to the "Dhabihs" (much appreciated oh great one) notes here, as to techniques and processes for colour. Much practice still in progress as is the work it's self.
Crit me, comment, I don't know you so I can't take it personally. (if you tell me where you live, this may change the situation slighty)

woah. redo the whole thing. no offense really. but get a picture of someone, and look at what color they are. then pick those colors out and start blocking in the different shadows and stuff with the paint brush tool. im no good at it and im really sleepy, so i cant explain further. |

Up front and straight to the point. This is a cool thing. Thanks ESMan.
(promise to make more of an effort for a realistic skintone in future, sorry, basically no attempt was made this time round)

Be careful with the dodge and burn tools, too. It's almost always better to pick your darks and lights manually, and draw each in separately.
Though with a mouse, anything is difficult. |

well here is one thing i learned. When using just the dodge burn tool at the top you have settings.
shadows mediums and highlights
check them all out see the difference each one does.
Meduims is the best to use.
and then for real highlight stuff like for fire use highlights.
and with a mouse use very very low pressure and build your way up. |
