I'm working on this character design for someone and he said there is a problem with the shading on the pants... I asked what looks wrong... and he said he doesn't know. The Light source is coming from the ground. If anyone see what he is talking about or anything else wrong with the shading, could you please let me know and if possible and example. The shading is kinda Anime style so that is why it isn't blended.
Any help? |

Well, it looks good to me. Try taking off the shading on the leg in the back, since it probably wouldn't get as much light, as the leg in the front. |

I dunno, man, it looks fine to me. I suppose you could add another level of shading, create some thick wrinkles in the middle of the forward pants leg and in the spot near his waist in the back. But that's completely up to you; it looks fine as it is. |

hiya! thats a cool pic, love his expression. i think the problem with the shading is that the front leg has this highlight on it, and its pointy in the middle. the middle of the leg i mean. but really his shoe would be like, shielding the middle of his leg from the light source which is the floor in this case. so i suppose what i'm saying is that only the sticky-outy edges of the wrinkles would be really lit and very little of the rest would have much highlight on it...
im not coherent, i know. i hope that helped at least a little
[edit] i played with your piccie, i couldn't help it fixed some random shading bits and changed the shape of the front pant leg.

If anyone else could do a paint correction like nighmare has, that kind of visual example really helps me. Thanks again |
