While back I posted about a comic book that I'm working on. The book is called Red Giant and should see the first issue (of four) published in August this year.
I just wanted to post up another page layout to give you an idea of how this is going to look. This panel is an establishing shot, so later panels in the sequence will be more suggestive and loose (more painterly). The blank boxes represent insert panels (not shown), and this sequence occurs in the early Jurrasic period.
The book will probally be printed oversized: possibly something closer to A3 size. I'll be periodically posting stuff (probably some character designs next) so I can keep some momentum going with this thing.
Thanx for looking!
Edit: It looks at this stage like Dark Horse is going to pick it up, so it will be released through the normal speciality stores in your country. If all goes well, there might be a hardcover that could be distributed via Borders and B & N etc. but I gotta finish the blasted thing first...

Yeah, I remember this.
It looks excellent and I'll definitely be looking out for it. Where will it be released? |

Oh cool scene, I must learn from your example and start working on mine. I like how you started with the page, how you blocked out the areas for characters and such. Good idea, that I must use.
Good stuff

Interesting comment Wyatt. But just so you don't get the wrong idea, the blocked out areas for insert panels are worked out here in thumbnail. I use these workbooks as a starting point (so it's changed since), but the ideas are there...
Thanks all for replying!

Hey, wow man. That's awesome. I'll be sure to look for your book when it comes out, bro.
Oh yeah, by the way...what program(s) are you using to do the layout and thumbnails? Or is that specially-ordered paper that's shown? Stupid question, I know, but then again, I'm just a dumb n00b =D. |

Looks like it'll be cool!
Do you ever bleed images over one another, or is that something which is just not done?, because I'm a big fan of 2000AD, and they tend to do that with most of their painted comics (depending on artist of course).
P.S. Like it, feed me more...mmmm. ![](images/smiles/icon_eek.gif) |
