Just posting some quick scribbles while practicing new techs and playing with values... Are they any good? I'll post more if I come up with something that can be brought into daylight and not be ashamed.

BTW: the cube can be found in "reinventing the cube"(or something like that)-thread below.

hmmm... thought of one thing with the bow-man... if you imagine the bows length and compare it with the length of the wires (?)... then the bow will have to bend, like, 120 degrees doesn't it?
I understand everyone that dont get my point but what i mean is that i thing the thin white line from his hand should have a steeper angle... *phew*

and the cube is nice like hell.. if thats nice

"what kind of surface is smudgifying that shadow?"

I tried to create a wet fine sand surface effect.

And that bowstring issue, he's holding the bow (which is supposed to be a long bow) more horizontally than vertically and he's in process of cocking the bow (he's still holding the arrow between his fingers and it's not touching the bow yet)...

...Ok you're right, it's too confusing. It needs to be fixed.

A Warhammer 40,000 Eldar Champion.

I dug my dusty old WH40K scetches (dating back '94, I was 16 years old then, yay!) and picked this one under the scalpel.

Scaled it down 50% with a warm thought for modem users.

It's still in process and it got plentyful of flaws in lighting, values and almost everywhere in general. There's some initial plans to finish it in full colour and adding a simple background.

[edit: god my grammar sucks]

Nice Swooping Hawk. Excellent shading imo. I can see maybe a few areas that could use continued work but that whole area around the gun, torso, and his right wing look great and have a good sense of depth.

Hey Sarge. I think they look good, though there is a certain smudginess to the bowman that made me wonder if he was supposed to be a lycanthrope. (It looked to me like there was hair all over his face)
You have really captured a brush and ink look here. What tools did you use?

Hi Eric,

I mostly used airbrush with custom brushes and smudge tool (with the same set of brushes) to break the smooth surface here and there. I decided to keep it a quick scetch so I kind of got lazy rendering every part of the character.

Have you got your Wacom yet?
