I'm far too intellectual to believe in the inexistence of ghosts and supernatural stuff. I belief Christians and Pagans have warped the views we have nowadays to the extreme extent, but freaky stuff still happens.

I wanna see a UFO.

Well, depends. Sometimes I think people overreact to stupid coincidences, which explains a lot of ghost stories, but I also do think that there are beings of spirit that mess around with stuff sometimes. Not dead people, though, but folks that never have nor will have a body. However, I do think trying to track them or sight them, etc. is a colossal (sp?) waste of time. Go check out the nature trails or whatnot you've got in Kansas instead (IMHO).

Impaler--intellectualism alone makes for flat pancakes. I've seen UFO's aplenty--all the time I see something flying in the sky and go, "What the heck is that?!?" That's a UFO to me. Anyhow, Christianity and Paganism aren't the only religions in the western world. Can't blame them for most wierd people.

I saw the movie the nine gates with Johnny depp. And I found it interesting, like the whole finding keys and secret societies thing.

I'm a practacal man at heart, I haven't seen anything so far in my existence that a 12 gauge couldn't knock the back teeth out of, but am open minded for the sole reason that there are sooo many things that I know I don't have an understanding of. (ref to the thread on e=mc2 and everything is made up of light)

Thou if the little green men do come with bad intentions, then lock and load me buddy, and let us partake in the ritual of cracking open the can 'o' whoop arse !!!!!

Peace to all beings - unless they plan to zap us in alien bar-b-q fashion, then you know exactly where we gonna be sticking that Phazer Mr. Spock!! (This for the devil as well, though in that case I would have to admit to the existence of God and sign up)

Though till I see it, it's merely a curiosity and entertainment value.

Lukias: those are UFO's that people are probably seeing, but I doubt from outside earth, I think they are project aircrafts that we are testing, I mean the F-16 didn't just appear on our airplane runways, they were probably UFO's 15-20 years ago (being tested) or however old they are. So these UFO's people are seeing today, will most likely be on our air carriers in the next 5-10 years

I do HOWEVER believe the Roswell crash in 1947. Not because of all the stories, but of all the technology that vasted from that date on! I mean like 2 years later 2 universities built one of the first (useable) computers. And look at how fast technology is growing in just a 50 year period.

I can't believe that the computer age just started because we thought of 1 and 0. I think that some sort of foriegn object fell from the sky and helped us in developing technology.

BUT, I don't think they were alive (aliens) when they came here, I think that was a coinsidence that they crashed on earth (and were probably dead for decades, even hundreds of years). I believe the ship or whatever you want to call it, just somehow made its trip here either by accident or what-not.

But that is my opinion

Most of the places we are planning on going are local (state) landmarkets. The the largest hand dug well, and Stull's chuch is just beautiful, Theorosa's Bridge is a real nice country trip. I figure I can get some nice photos.

Some of the friends that are going with me believe and the other half just want to get out of town for a while. One place that one of my friends brought to my attention was Sallie the Man-hater. Her story was on the TV show Sightings twice I think. You can check it out on their web site.

Then we have tales like the Hamburger Man. He's hidden in the Sand Hills north of Hutchinson. You might have heard this story, but with a few changes. A hooked hand, two teens making out in a car when they hear about an exscaped con... etc.

This has to be the best one yet. The blue-eyed Monster of Clearwater Cemetery.
quote
Quote:
... the teens described the creature to a detective: "They said it was hunkered down behind a barrel, and suddenly raised up, and started toward them. It had its left arm across its chest, and with its right hand motioned for them to come toward it." The witnesses decided that it might not be in their best interest to respond to the monster's beckoning hand. Instead, one boy had the bright idea to curse the creature in response. The monster took offense at being called names, and in reaction "it's eyes changed from round to diamond-shaped and turned bright amber," according to the boy who cursed at it. The detective reported that when the creature's eyes changed shape and color, "that's when they turned and ran."

Have to admit they make some good stories. I think the blue-eyed monster has to be the best. It was only seen twice Saturday and then Sunday and never seen again. You guys have to know some good ghost - monster stories.

About the UFO... my grandfather was a doctor on Walker Air Force base (Roswell) during the 1947 crash... he died that year under weird conditions! <- No joke.

Jabberwocky, Alice in wonderland is scary... About UFO's and ghosts and all paranormal things. All dillusions of the mind. Yeah sure we know that our technology is growning at a fast rate, sure a whole town can see something that resembles a UFO, I personally have seen tons of things resembling UFO's and ghosts. At first i usually freeze from fright and astonismnet but then think it out reasonably about what could be the cause of this.

Yeah people panic when they see things that are new to them and it is frightening, but that panic often clouds out what is really there. Also, in many cases with these "young couples" they were looking for something to explain why they were out so late at night to their parents or why they snuck out. Sure, they could take this to their grave this lie. But withought real proof and hardcore evidence, these are just claims. Claims made by people. An people are faulted in many ways and scew different facts.

I'm sure that the US government has all kinds of things going on that are super high tech and state of the art, and very new to us. Area 51 particularly, everyone know of the famous sighting around there, and you always see these old grandpa army marines (no reference to your family) that talk about how muc hthey know about the field and how the things they hear and have spotted so and so years later they cannot explain. This is easily explainable, they were in the military, which is very stressing on the mind, and they have a lot to remember, which often can lead to faulty facts. I'm not saying that they don't know their material, but that they aren't quite as crisp as they once were.
In addition, most of these peopel compare what they used to know with recent sightings today. Our technology has increased tramendously in the bast 50 years. Huge breakthroughs have been made. Sure I do belive our government is concealing some things fro mthe general public, but I think some of those officials are smart, and know how to manipulate people.

HEH yeah i just remmebred something... UFO = Unidentified Flying Object, you think some guy who say an object in the sky saw that and said "hey look its an Unidentified Flying Object" no, that was stated by the military, they did not have to state it was unidentified, but i think they might have done that as a decoy, in order to divert the United States' interests to another area, away from what they were really scheming ;-)

I think i went a bit off topic...but it can all be realated to paranormal beings...

Oh boy, NukleoN would explain it better than me i'm sure ;-)

Jabberwocky: There are only FIVE gates, actually four... Leviathan, Baal, Luthifer and Beelzebub and the Fifth one is the portal of might - that can be found and/or opened only after the original four are wide open... read Necronomicon by Abdul El Hazred
'Mad Arab' - he goes really in depth with this!!! The one who will open the portal of might will be guarded by it until he is cast into non-being that is farlongs beyound physical death, so when something threatens his life or mind, the portal will annihilate the threat!!!

Okay I lived in Kansas (I don't want to hear any OZ jokes!) and just found out we have oneof the six gates of hell right in our wonderful state.

It's a little town of Stull, Kansas. And the devil comes here twice a year.

I stubbled onto this bit of info when I was looking for some haunting sites in Kansas... A few friends and I are going to about 6 - 8 different places as a summer trip. We're going to tape all of it and see how many of us gets lost in the woods with a big scary witch after us... sounds like that would make a cool movie (in theory) .

How many of you believe in ghost and why?

i don't, cause it is all in the mind, the mind can create things so real because it happens in your mind you can't disbelieve what your mind sees. But they aren't real.

This is what's said about Stull on all sites and books I have read:
quote:
Stull Cemetery, and the abandoned church which rests next to it, is located in the tiny, nearly forgotten Kansas town of Stull. There is not much left of the tiny village, save for a few houses, the newer church and about twenty residents. The town is also home to a number legends, strange tales that are linked to the crumbling old church and the overgrown cemetery that can be found atop Emmanuel Hill in the middle of town. For years, stories of witchcraft, ghosts and supernatural happenings have surrounded the old graveyard... a place which some claim is one of the"seven gateways to hell."
The legends say that these stories have been linked to Stull for more than 100 years, but none of them made it into print until the 1970's. In November of 1974, an article appeared in the University of Kansas student newspaper which spoke of a number of strange occurrences in the Stull churchyard. According to legends quoted in the article, the cemetery is one of the two places on earth where the devil appears in person two times each year. It said that the cemetery had been the source of many legends in the area... stories that had been told and re-told for over a century.
According to the story, most students learned of Stull's diabolical reputation from their grand-parents and older individuals... but many claimed first-hand encounters with things that could not explain. One student claimed to have been grabbed by the arm by something unseen, while others spoke of unexplained memory loss when visiting the place. Like many other locations of this type, the tales of devil worship and witchcraft also figured strongly into the article.

I found a friend who is willing to go with me and has been to a few of the place and then some. She told me some weird stories about this place called Zeldas or something like that where if you go in with a sharp object (i.e. pocket knife, pen, needle, etc.) it'll end up in your car (i.e. hood) if you have no sharp objects then blunt rocks will be embedded in your tires.
Another one she told me about was the cross roads. She told me that they shake cars, damage cars (i.e. break tail lights, spare tires, lis. plates, etc) and one of her friends ended up with a bloody hand print on his shirt.

Okay now I'm thinking cool! When I get back I post pictures I have taken... and if I get really bored I might "inhance" a few for s&g. Now all I need are some really scary stories to tell while we're out there to scare my buds... anyone have any?
