Pencils are done by the incomparable Ed Tadem.

Now I need some suggestions on how to serperate the tones, while still maintaining the intentional color scheme. (Though if someone can suggest a way to alter a color (to prevent the problem) and have the image keep the feel, please enlighten me.)

It looks like a great coloring to me.

I totally do not understand what you mean by tonal separation though...

do you want it to look more like anime (which has a normal surfacesm hard shadows and hard highlights?)? Those tones are pretty separated.

are you looking to make a Cyan Magenta Yellow and Black "Color Separation" for silk screen or lithograph printing?

Yes this looks very good.

hmm.... the coloring looks absolutely fine...hmm... but what are these lightsabers doing in the window?

I can't really tell what that's supposed to be.

Ok, to elaborate and clearify.

With such an overpowering brown tone, I feel that the image, loses proper depth. Look at the legs compared to the floor. The color merges together. I want to seperate those planes. To keep the tone, I'm afraid to introduce other color. A blue or red to create contrast, doesn't make any sense here to me. I was hoping for some suggestions.

The "lightsabers". The window has bulletholes. The light is bright outside, and the air is full of dust. It is supposed to be light peering through the holes. I'm not a fan of how they came out either. I may edit them.

Also the skin tones suck. I'm not sure how to help that either.

Ah, I see now,

hmm... if you just made the edge of the hole where one can see the groove bright it might look better.

Well on the note of the holes. I dont really that you would see light rays coming through since the light is already going through the glass. if there were light rays, there would be one large one through the entire window. I really don't know if that was very well explained. As for the coloring, I don't think i cold help on that one. Possibly gray out the paints a little more. Make them more washed out. Otherwise, there you go...

Thanks for the insight.

The glass isn't supposed to be all that clear, clean, or translucent. Notice you can't see thru it all that well. So the holes, are allowing far more light through.
(I will still edit it.)

Very nice coloring!!! I especially like the door shadow and the floor texture, I agree about the light through the bullet holes, too bright maybe? Cool work tho'

i personally think the coloring is great and so are the tones.

however the light from the window and shadow on the floor (casted by this perticular pretty cowgirl) could look better

this is just a 5 minutes tryout over your piece (hope u don't mind) just to save myself some expensive words. hope it helps
-http://www.geocities.com/topeiris/dustystar.jpg

the rays of light should look more like this style - broading to the end and weakening. u can do what i didn't and add clouds of dust over the light rays so the ray wont be whole but have areas that are less bright along the rays' path, if u get what i mean.
also more shadow casted by her on the floor for mood. i accidently didn't streach it all the way down but u get the point.
about the connection between the walls and floor - sometimes we do shadows that makes less sence but help the picture look better. in this case i just shaded the lower walls a little bit so it won't blend.
if u like u can take my advice and re-do it yourself but much better.

again- hope i helped.

I was going to just let this fade down the list.

But since Toperia, took the time to play with it like that, I figure I should post the final.

well for the future if you paint something and you do not like the way the colors are here is easy ways to fix it with the selection tool select what you want to change use the adjust colors or hue or any of those options in ps works real well i like how you did the light shinning threw the wholes
i think if you got ride of all the lines to make it look more like a painting it would really rock

here is something i did i only have a mouse right now
