Alright, I took a few looks at spooge's old reflection studies and tried to make the best use of them. Thanks to Rinaldo for saving them from Goodbrush.com. It's no longer there. I personally think, though however basic these studies are, they do help when doing shiny objects such as armor and helmets. I uploaded them to my directory here: http://www.littlebrush.f2s.com/car_reflection.JPG http://www.littlebrush.f2s.com/cone_reflection.JPG http://www.littlebrush.f2s.com/cylinder_cube.JPG
(hope you don't mind Spooge! If you want me to take them down, I'll do so prompty!)
here's my image..its not done yet. Just to see what these studies helped me do:
before: http://www.littlebrush.f2s.com/girlknight.jpg
after: http://www.littlebrush.f2s.com/girlknight2.jpg
Latest Version(after "trying" to fix bad reflection on right side of helmet, but the angle is wrong still):

I think you messed up the before/after shots, but the chrome looks nice. The reflections on the right side of the helmet are, erm, wrong though... but I doubt anyone here wants to hear what I have to say.

Nice pic!

Thanks for the comments. Yea, the pics are backwards. Frost, I see the mistake. Any better?: http://www.littlebrush.f2s.com/girlknight3.jpg
(same as above image)

oh shoot, just noticed that the angle I reflected the right side of the helmet near her ear is wrong..it should be slanted, not parallel with the rim of the helm..gonna go fix that

and I wanna hear what else you ahve to say about the pic man. be great info! thanks.

PS. anyone having trouble with Internet Explorer and this forum lately? I couldn't post any responses until I got on this crappy comp that I'm on now. My good comp's busted..tried to fix the problem with IE6, which made my computer unrestartable...sigh

Sorry for the server problems..I have to find a new one. Geocities wasn't holding up well, nor is this one.
But here's the TRICK to view geocities and spaceports pics:
-go to spaceports.com
-load it completely
-now type in the actual url on the addy bar
-now load it, it should load

see, spaceports and Geocities will only let you display pics if the previous page you went to was in their domain. So as long as the prev page you go to has a geocities.com or a spaceports.com thing, it will load the pics.

It's a 404 message, not 403, which means the link isn't correct. And yeah, that chat and a billion popups was annoying. =)

Alright folks, Found a new server that can host my pics. It's pretty good! 20 mb free space, f2s.com. The links above are updated and the pic shown above is the latest version.

And btw, don't download Internet Explorer 6.0....it'll not allow you to restart your comp

The reflection looks great. It looks like a solid overcast. I wouldn't know how to go about giving the reflection the cloud variations, though. The facial structure was bothering me a little and I a) don't know if this made it worse, and b) am not sure if you really wanted a repaint. But you can chalk it up to over-enthusiasm

It's nice to know how little things like that can effect the overall picture so much dogfood. You made the eyes a lot better, thanks for showing me.

Coo man your getting better...sorry my insights to reflection didnt help but maybe that Julie Bell chick ( he he ) will learn ya a thing or two about that kinda thing. Personally I think you need some black twisty lines in it to give it that real painted chrome look...like I said I am going off of julie bells work...but it does look good. I like how you have the whole spoooge thing going on with the rest of the pic. I think you should have left your figure that loose as it looks a little wierd with the character being so sharp and eveythign else very loose. Anyways good job brother hope you keep making more you really are improving!
