I found the image at Random Musings under the pet thread and thought I would give it my best shot. Still got some bugs to work out and the shadowing. I want a good background but not sure what. Maybe you could help fill that part in. Anyway, here's the pic took about 2 hours on it so far.

Whoa, no replies? I'll consider it perfect then. :P I didn't think it was that bad. Oh well back to the drawing board.

It is really good. So no critisicm here lad.
But for background, id really like to see big machinery. Theres an old video with front 242 where small rodents run around in wicked machines. Id like to see you do that.

Ok before anyone shoots me for using the texturizer in Photoshop. I wanted this to look painted without having to actually paint every canvas texture in by hand. I also decided to give Stanley a little character and thanks g-luder for the comments. I'm really trying to go for a children's book type image and not really industrial, but I think I'll still work on another version with the machines as well.

Looks good so far, but you really need a background. (as if you didn't know that. ) It's really hard to crit the lighting or anything without seeing the mouse in context, but as far as what you have, the feet look like they're having some problems. You might also want to use something other than pure white light for the highlights. It would be really easy to suggest a setting just by changing the hue a bit - a bluish tint for moonlight, or more yellow for candles or lamps. Or red for the fires of hell. Who knows. Pick a background, damn it. Then we'll talk again.

As far as the canvas texture goes... It actually looks ok. Amazing.
