I started this image back before I lost my hard drive and all of my files including my web site and everthing that was not backed up.
So I decided to rescan this drawing and start over. The only problem now is that since I painted it over again I keep making durmatic changes and it seems like i will never finish.
What I am looking for is constructive critizism about the entire piece. Do you think I should add skulls to the ground and bats in the sky and stuff like that.

Shadowman,
I think everything is very flat right now. It's almost like you should consider this an underpainting of the hues you wish to use. to take it further you should begin to develop the value ranges of each of the differing hues. Create a better light source for one. The guy seems to noe have a real light source cast onto him, and considering the fact that if there is a light source in the pic that is able to create that luminance onto him, then it should also spill onto the ground around him.
The perspective you have already developed is kind of good. It would probably be better to have some more of those mountainous or dwelling like objects you have, but at different distances. What you have now appears like back drops on a stage setting like on Broadway. They don't have form to them. Use the sky (environment) to bring more of those forms into the pic, making them recede into the environment, by maybe coloring them with the skies greenish hue instead of the brown they already are. That's an easy way to show better form and better depth.
And with the guy, be more considerate of his anatomy.
Don't worry about adding extra things like bats or skulls, that would make it become to predictable/stereotypical. What you have there is fine, concern yourself with that, develop that further.
good luck

I worked on the file for a bit tonight.
It is far from complete but at least now there should be no question about the light source. Though the colors look better in photoshop then in my browser. Lost a little contrast after posting.
I also put a little airial perspective to the buildings and some depth to the sky.

Well... that depends on how much time/effort you want to stick into the image... The background is cool, but the pose/anatomy (as Gen. Confusion pointed out) is a bit off.
I'm not saying you should copy the sketch I posted, but you could redraw his right arm for instance But it's all up to you though ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

I think the anatomy's just fine actually. Cept the second pic, the rib cage got funky. Actually, Oscar, I think your dude has oversized proportions. Take the hands for instance or the neck It's all in the style of the person drawing. I like the pic Shadowman, has a clean look to it.

That you Wiked for sticking up for me about the anatomy. I see what you said about the rib cage I will fix that amongst other isues next time I update.
Oscar I like exagerated anatomy but in my own work I usually try to stay more to a realistic style.
