A scene from the lord of the rings series. Any comments? Color too bright? i like my hobbit face, though it can be criticized a lot, i know. hrmm gotta sleep now.
2nd version:
old version: http://fp.geocities.com/gbaudio/art/hobbit.jpg
Notes on old version> hrmm back from sleep. After relooking at this again, it feels too cartoonish. Anyone know why? I'm sort of thinking that its the use of midtones on the face..maybe..making it look dull and blank.
Or maybe it's the bright colors on his clothing. Hrmm no, just the monotone on his clothing, Green and Yellow..with almost no other color. I'm gonna rework this tomorrow I guess..*sigh* The rework I did today got lost during a crash...1 hr of work oh well.

I think the perspective on the sword throws it off a little, and I agree, the face has a bit of a blank expression, rather than giving any sense of reaction from his surroundings. Other than that, it looks great! |

its not too bad. i must say that the green and yellow are a little bright, but not that bad. the wrinkles in the clothes are good though
just keep working at it. it will only get better ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Ok, I think I got it this time, at least closer to what I had in mind. Lighting threw the other two pics off. I didn't go too far into the whites, so the pic was muddled, no contrast...at least I think. Well, hope you guys like this one better

Ok..upped the new version(above) this morning for about an hour. Wish I could add more detail somehow..but that would take away from the fact that Hobbits are simple folk. Here, I think its Sam Gamgee, first time he becomes mad after Frodo is wounded. Should I draw Frodo? The coloring after the ridge of the brow really bugs me. Any reason why that may be so? Thanks for any input.
Tremor, how is the sword even in perspective, its like flame, doesn't quite have dimension? But yea, the old version(http://fp.geocities.com/gbaudio/art/hobbit.jpg) had the dullest expression ever..hehe, I was sleepy..
