I'm assuming most of you are interested in computer games in one way or another and happened to surf on over to valve software's website, clicked on the jobs section, and saw the link for Dhabih's website in his short bio. You clicked on it, having nothing better to do. Lo and behold, you arrived at "sijun.com" You surfed around aimlessly for a while, amazed by the quality of his artworks. Soon, you're random wanderings took you to the forums and a wide, fertile land opened up before you.
*bites pipe, the aroma of tobacco sifts through the air*
*ahem*, so are my deductions correct? or are there websites other than Valve's which lead you to this place?
On a side note, how many of you play counter-strike? I certainly do! |

I was working at Ubi Soft (late 1999) when some image was floating around in our graphic department; Dhabih's "Eclipse". I visited his website, and saw the forum... |

Milleniums ago I stumbled upon an interesting peice of artwork at www.bluesnews.com depicting a Quake2 monster, created digitally by none other than Mr. Dhabih. I went to his site, and after I finished cleaning up the drool on my desk I bookmarked his site. I continued to make random visits, then one day his forum appeared and here I am in my present form.
Counter-Wipe sucks imho. |

"Milleniums" Bradford?
I have no idea how I found this. I'll bet it was some link somewhere. I found it in 99 right when the forums went up and made visits until March time when I decided to check them out. |

Well, I was always interested in art. Have done a lot of traditional stuff and some digital, so like 2 month ago I decided to try digital painting, since I have seen some great stuff in the past from other people and couldn't really believe it's done all in Photoshop. So I just looked for tutorials and the like all over the place. I think I found a link to sijun at gamearts.com
Not sure though |

Well like all of you I've always been interested in art, so while checking out the daily arteestic sites I found a link to this place at polycount. I've been addicted ever since and have forgotten about all other boards I used to visit. I might not post much but I'm ALWAYS here.
muahaha!

In 10th grade, a friend of mine in my visual communications class freaked out and said there was this site he had to show me, and he showed me. I looked at the site often for the art and to see new stuff once in a while. After a time, the forums came up and I joined.

Growing fairly interested in making levels for Quake 2, I broswed Planetquake's editing until i found my faithful Rust. A couple of months passed by until I chanced upon the wallpaper done for Rust, drawn by none other than faust|gfx, who then had the brown DukeNukem-style web page, with the whole gear pic and all that crap.
I said to myself "hmm. impressive." I then talk to my good fellow Lee'Mon about digital art, who said "Go here.".
And thusly, my pocket protector grew another inch. |

Back in the day when I took my first PhotoShop class. The first time I booted up photoshop I almost pissed my pants. The following weeks were filled with internet browsing and searches for "PhotoShop" stuff. It was somewhere in that time slot that a certain, "My World My Reality" link popped up on some search engine. So I clicked on it and the fun began. |

OMIGOD, it was only a few months ago, and I already can't remember. Somebody shoot me. . ..
What I DO remember:
I looked at Dhabih's work before I knew about the forum.
I THINK I found out about Dhabih through Valve's website. Half-Life is my number one game of all time, and I'm a Counter Strike addict, so that's why I was looking through Valve in the first place, probably looking for Team Fortress 2 information(when the f*ck are they going to release that?!). |

Back in the days of "The Realm" and dhabih was known as Chapel. He had a chapel website (with his amazing artwork) and one day he says, "well I am done with the realm, but you can check out my new homesite at www.sijun.com" and i have been visiting ever since. Probably since 96 or 97.... |

Well a few months back I was browsing through the Elfwood Fantasy Art Resource Project (FARP) mailing list and I came across a post where someone was asking how to paint hair in Photoshop.
The reply gave a link to a post in the forums where a member had put a step-by-step tutorial on how they painted hair.
I spent what seemed like forever digging around in the forums and feeling intimidated by everyone here and their work but eventually persuaded myself to join up.
And well here I am... |
